Release and Realign: Reflecting on 2024 and Setting Intentions for 2025
As I reflect back on 2024, one word stands out above all others: release. This year taught me the beauty, challenge, and necessity of letting go—of stories, people, doubt, judgments, control, and even knowing. It was a year of untangling knots I didn’t know existed, requiring patience, daily choices, and honest looks in the mirror.
At the start of the year, I thought 2023 had been challenging, but 2024 brought new heights and new depths. Growth required releasing old beliefs, narratives, and attachments to allow what was unfolding to take shape. Some processes took six to eight months of consistent work before I noticed a shift, but when it came, it felt empowering, a sense that I was truly stepping into a new version of myself that I was cultivating all year.
Lessons in Release
Through the year, I re-learned how to trust myself in deeper ways, to talk to myself with kindness, and to hold space for my vision—a vision that pulls me forward even when the path feels uncertain. This process of releasing wasn’t just about me; it extended to my family as well. My husband and I share a desire for simplicity, which has driven us to evaluate what truly matters. Where were we overcomplicating things? What wasn’t aligned with our values? These questions became guideposts for our decisions.
I couldn’t have navigated this year alone. I’m deeply grateful for the support I’ve received from family, friends, and the professionals who have guided me. Special thanks to Mauricio Bruce, Alicia Fajardo, and Chinyelu @WeNurture for helping me see my blind spots, heal hidden wounds, and repattern my nervous system. Their support has been invaluable, not only for me but also for my growth as a human and, especially now, as a parent. They’ve helped me find ways to nurture my daughter’s unique journey and unfolding self by modeling a new layer of well-being within myself.
The Power of Community
One big reminder from this year is the importance of safe people. My coach shared something very truthful from his teacher: “There will come a time in the world where there won’t be safe places, and so we will need safe people.” This wisdom has stayed with me as I work with clients in one-on-one sessions and group workshops. It reminds me that doing my own inner work is essential to being a clear, open channel for others.
To my clients, thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you. Every session has been a two-way exchange—your courage and growth inspire me, and I learn so much from each interaction. The magic of this work is in its reciprocity, its lessons, and the heart-to-heart connections it fosters. Thank you. Thank You.
Reflecting on 2024: An Invitation
As we close this year, I invite you to take a moment to reflect on the essence of 2024. Here are a few questions to guide your process:
What was your theme for the year? If you had to sum it up the feeling / essence in one word, what would it be?
What did you release this year? How did it feel to let go?
What lessons or shifts emerged from this process of releasing?
Who or what supported you along the way?
What would support you in closing out 2024 consciously?
Setting Intentions for 2025
Looking ahead, what is the feeling you want to cultivate and embody in 2025? Choose a word or phrase that resonates with your vision for the year. Let this word become a compass, guiding your choices and alignment. Here are some reflective prompts to help:
What do I want to feel more of in 2025?
What areas of my life need more of my attention, love, and commitment to thrive in 2025?
What Simple Shifts can I make to bring greater clarity and alignment into my daily life?
What consistent practices and rituals will help me stay grounded and connected to my vision?
Practices to Begin 2025 with Intention
Daily Check-In: Each morning, take five minutes to ask yourself, “What is one thing I can do today to align with my 2025 vision?”
Release Ritual: Write down what you’re ready to let go of from 2024. Burn or tear the paper as a symbolic act of release when you finish..
Gratitude Practice: Reflect on three things from 2024 that brought you joy, growth, or insight. Gratitude creates fertile ground for new beginnings.
Create Your Word of the Year: Write your chosen word on a card or in your journal. Keep it somewhere visible as a reminder of your intention.
This year has been a reawakening - a constant death and rebirth cycle for me, and I’m grateful for the lessons, the challenges, and the beauty and simplicity it has brought. As you step into 2025, know that the work of release and realignment is ongoing, but each step brings you closer to a life of simplicity, clarity, and purpose.
